Cream Eye Shadow vs. Powder
Eye shadow is one of those things that people can be very picky about. Some people swear by powders, while others say that nothing can beat a good cream. Both can be good for different occasions, and if you haven’t used one or the other, I suggest you try.
Powders are the better known type, and are what most people think of when they hear the word eye shadow. You need a brush to apply them, and the blending can be a bit tough if you’re not used to doing it. On the other hand, creams can be applied with your fingers and blend smoothly, but are thicker and don’t always feel as nice.
If you decide to use a powder, it will look light and feminine. The downside is that it may end up looking splotchy, depending on the brand. To keep it simply looking pretty and feminine, try applying a primer beforehand. You don’t need to go expensive for this, either!
On the other hand, if you want a cream, it will look very smooth and, well, creamy! With this type, the downside is that it can go on too heavy or dark. Remember to only apply a tiny bit at a time, and to blend! You will be an expert in no time.
Both types of eye shadow have their advantages and disadvantages, and it all comes down to which one feels the best to you. You can find ways to be beautiful with each one, no matter your preferences.!

Damaged Hair Beauty Tips
Stray hairs, split ends, unbearable dryness.. all the symptoms of damaged hair! It happens quickly and gets worse just as fast. Most women let it go and simply wet down the flyaway hairs or put product into it to keep the frizz from taking over. Some look at their split ends and think that it’s okay, because they don’t seem to be doing anything. Wrong! Damage can really take a toll on your hair, and there are some easy ways to fix it.
The most well known tip is simply snipping away the split ends. This not only gets rid of them, but keeps your hair growing at a nice pace. You should do this at least once every two months (but once a month is better!), either at a salon, or even at home. Just trim the tips off, no need to get rid of length.
Another good tip is to only shampoo and condition your hair two or three times a week. I know that it can be hard if your hair gets oily very fast, but in the long run, it will help you keep the damage to a minimum!
Now, for a less conventional tip.. a homemade deep conditioning product. This can be made out of various things, such as suntan oil, mayo or even egg. A great recipe is one cup of mayo and ½ of an avocado. Whip up your concoction and apply it to your hair, then leave it on for ten to twenty minutes before rinsing it out. A hot towel wrapped around your head will help too!
In the end, if the damage is too bad, you may be forced to lose a bit of your length. This is an option most people really hate to take, so taking good care of your hair is the best thing you can do from the very start.

Nails: Plain or Decorated?
In America, little girls like to put decals onto their nails in all shapes and colors. In Japan, girls of all ages decorate their nails with decals and even larger plastic roses or dangling items. The difference between the countries is incredible.
There are thousands of possibilities with fingernails, and everyone has their own preference for what looks good. Some like complicated designs, large decals, plain matte colors, shimmering rainbows… even words painted on! However, the question still remains — do plain or decorated nails look the best?
For a woman with an important job, decorated nails would look silly, wouldn’t they? On the other hand, tiny little cherry blossoms in white would look gorgeous on the nails of a bride. There is no “best” look. It all comes down to the event or daily activities that you will be showing your newly manicured nails off in. Every girl has the right to beautiful nails, so make yours the prettiest you can and always have fun!

Traveling with Makeup
There comes a time in every makeup lover’s life where she (or he!) has to travel with their makeup… That means, you guessed it, a plane ride. This always brings about a few questions, such as wondering if it is okay to bring certain types or if you need to place your entire makeup bag in a carry on. Over the past few years, airport security has become quite a bit tougher, after all.
Before you fly, remember to check in with your airline ahead of time. Also, check with your airport. Each airport will be able to tell you what the allowances are for taking makeup through security. Sometimes they will let you through freely, other times you will need to place your makeup in a plastic bag that you have brought with you. This is the safest of things to do, and I recommend that you do it every time you travel.
The general requirements are that you cannot take something that is more than 3.4oz onto a plane. This means the container size, not what is inside. Sort through your makeup bag before you leave if you decide you must have makeup with you and take out the essentials, making sure that they are small enough to be allowed. If you aren’t sure, always put it into your checked baggage.
As long as you are careful, you should have no problems at all!

Eyebrow colors
Have you ever seen a girl with bright blonde hair and dark eyebrows and thought, “Wow, that looks funny!”? When most people get their hair dyed, they don’t even stop to think about the color of their eyebrows. I’m not sure why it is, but the thought just doesn’t occur to most people that the colors won’t match! If you think about it logically, mismatching combos just don’t seem to mesh well! You wouldn’t want your roots showing up as drastically, would you? I didn’t think so.
But what can you really do? You can’t dye your eyebrows, right? Wrong! Eyebrows can be dyed; and most stylists will be willing to help you out. Now, this is something you will need to keep up on, but if you have it done each time you head in to get your roots touched up, you should be okay!
Eyebrows dyed a shade or two lighter or darker than your hair color look excellent. They don’t have that fake look to them at all, and they blend in very nicely with your new color. Alternatively, if you have light brows and are heading to a darker shade, you can easily cover them up with an eyebrow pencil. No one will ever know that you have to do it; it can be your little secret!

Soft Lips
Who doesn’t want soft, kissable lips? The surprising part of the thought is that they are right within your grasp! Now, the normal way to achieve perfectly soft lips is to use moisturizing lip gloss or chapstick, but there is another way that isn’t advertised as much!
The next time you brush your teeth, don’t just set the toothbrush aside when you finish. Instead, run that brush over those lips. Really, it works! Brush lightly at them; it exfoliates them just like a good scrub would exfoliate your skin. There doesn’t need to be any toothpaste on the brush, though it wouldn’t hurt. (In fact, it would make them minty fresh, right?)
I guarantee that you will be surprised and impressed at the results of this strange little treatment! After you finish, applying a bit of gloss or chapstick will keep them feeling soft for hours.

Blending Eyeshadow
Eyeshadow is an everyday thing for many people, and at first glance it is hardly something to be worried about. You pick a color that goes well with what you are wearing or your skin tone, and simply brush it on. That’s it, time to leave! Right? Well, that could be the end to a wonderful eyeshadow story, but sometimes it leaves people wishing for more.
One thing that eyeshadow wearers forget very often is that blending goes a very, very long way. It can be as easy as blending the eyeshadow in to the rest of your makeup to create a very smooth look, or it can be more complex; such as blending two or more shades together. Either way, it will get rid of the rough edges.
Have you ever noticed how some eyeshadow stands out and looks like a piece of the puzzle went missing? This is what blending will fix! Simple use a small brush to smooth it out, letting it mix into the surrounding colors or makeup. Be careful not to blend too high or too much on either side though! If you decide to use multiple shades, it works exactly the same. A painter wouldn’t forget to blend each shade of blue in an ocean, would he? Of course not; that would look silly!
The next time you pull out your eyeshadow brush, just remember that; your eyelid is your canvas. Blend, blend, blend!

A Mascara Secret
Applying mascara has always been a simple thing. You brush it on in one or two layers, and then go about the rest of your makeup (or apply it at the end and move on to something else!). Now, most of the time, when you search out mascara tips, you get the basic. How do I stop clumping? Where did all of the other tips go? What no one tells you is that there is a way to make your lashes look extra long and gorgeous.
As you start your makeup, apply one coat of mascara. This is usually best done right after you apply your base foundation and powder. Continue with your normal routine next. Make yourself pretty with your eyeshadow, blush, lipstick and anything else you like! Now here’s where it changes a bit.
Add another coat of mascara. Yes, over the already dried coat. It will add that extra sass to your lashes, and make them look even longer! You may want to use an eyelash brush now to separate them and remove any clumping, but other than that, they should look amazing!

Simple Sultry Lips
One thing people often forget is that simple lips can sometimes be better than ultra done up ones. A more natural look can go a long way, especially if done correctly. Many women tend to assume that without lipstick, they won’t look complete. In fact, sometimes lipstick can make a person look a bit too overdone!
Instead, why not try something a bit different? Forget the reds and pinks of the past, and take a look at your clear lip gloss. While it may seem boring or outdated, there is one simple thing that can do wonders for it: lip plumper.
Lip plumper is an amazing creation, and one you should try at least once. You brush it on like lip gloss and let it work it’s magic. Your lips will start to tingle within minutes, and as they do, they will puff up slightly. This can turn your small lips into a gorgeous pout people will be jealous of.
Now, you can leave the plumper’s gloss on, or you can put your own on over it. Some women find that if they wipe off the plumper and then put their own clear or tinted gloss of choice over it, nothing can top the look!
Simple has just become something that will turn heads.

Making Makeup Last
Whether you’re at work, on the road or even just sitting at home, nobody wants their makeup to fade away into nothingness easily! We want makeup that lasts all day, throughout any harsh treatment we may put it through. Sadly though, this isn’t a common thing. Most days, your makeup has faded by lunch time. So how do we fix that? Easy!
The very first step is to apply a moisturizer to your skin; followed by your foundation. Instead of putting your makeup directly onto the foundation, lightly dust a loose powder over it. This will help seal the foundation to your face. The first step to long lasting makeup!
If you’re a blush fan, keep in mind that the powder variety will stay on your cheeks longer. Mascara fans, always go the waterproof way! And those who adore eyeliner? If you try a liquid type, it will stay a lot longer than any pencil liner.
As for lips, if you carry a colored lip gloss with you throughout the day, you’ll always have it for touch-ups. However, if you prefer a lipstick, there are plenty that adhere to your lips and give you long lasting color.
If, after all this, you are still afraid of your color fading, there is one more option. Though it is usually used for theater, you can invest in a makeup setting spray, which will keep that beautiful look on your face all day long.
