Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
For most, the hair on our heads is all we really want. Desiring to remove unwanted hair on other areas of the body is an ever-growing industry. There are several methods available to remove this unwanted hair, but very few of them will take care of the hair permanently or on the first try. When looking into the options, be sure to select the method or combination of methods that is best for you depending on cost, time, skin-type and hair.
Threading is used in beauty clinics and mall kiosks for removing facial hair. The results are similar to plucking and not permanent.
Waxing is done by applying a heated wax to the hair followed by a strip of waxing paper. Hair is then ripped out by the root. Although this lasts longer than shaving, it can cause some discomfort and skin irritation.
Depilation is a process that uses chemicals to dissolve the hair. This usually lasts as long as waxing but has the major side effect of skin irritation due to the chemicals melting away skin cells as well as the unwanted hair.
Electrolysis uses fine-gauge needles that are inserted into hair follicles. Then an electric current is applied to the root, burning the hair root and stopping the production of more hair. This procedure lasts longer than others, but requires repeated treatments up to 18 months to be a permanent solution.
Laser treatments are becoming more affordable thanks to newer and more cost-effective treatments being introduced. Although this may currently be the most effective way to eliminate unwanted hair, it is not always permanent and not for everyone. Those with light skin and dark hair will see the most benefit. Laser hair removal works by emitting light at different wavelengths into the skin which normally targets the melanin.

Expensive Treatments and Spa Services
Beauty treatments and makeup for celebrities may be out of your budget, but it’s still fun to think about what is really out there. With the average cost of spa massages ranging from $85-$140, more people are enjoying these special treatments from time to time. Day spas and resort spas around the world offer the standard experiences of various massages, body wraps, aromatherapies, and acupressure at fairly reasonable costs.
However, there are some extra-special treatments out there for those who are really looking to indulge. These treatments range from $500 for a six-hands stone massage in Hawaii to over $5000 for an Evian bath in South Beach that uses rose petals and 1000 bottles of Evian water.
Some of the more popular and luxurious treatments being offered to the rich and famous these days include facials with 24-carat gold dissolved in the mist that is gently massaged until absorbed and massages that use over $1 million dollars worth of diamonds.
If that financial commitment is beyond your wallet, there are some more reasonable alternatives that include beer or wine baths and massages at various breweries and wineries, caviar shampoo treatments, and white chocolate raspberry body wraps. Whatever your budget, there is an indulgent moment waiting to be enjoyed.

Volumize Your Hair and Makeup
Some people have it and some do not…hair with natural volume that is. If you are among those who have been blessed with voluminous hair, congratulations! On the other hand, if you haven’t and still crave volume, don’t despair. It can still be achieved! In addition to using volumizing shampoos and conditioners, there are also supplements that can be taken to help hair.
B-vitamins, zinc, and iron can help boost hair volume and growth and are the key ingredients that help prenatal vitamins seem to work so well. During the styling process, creating the illusion of volume is also possible. Try blow drying hair while bent over at the waist and flipping hair upside down.
Applying hairspray while flipped over this way will also help to volumize hair, but be sure to avoid putting a stiff layer of laquer on the top of the hair as it will weight it down and reduce the voluminous look.

Looking like the Stars
When award season rolls around, everyone wants to look just like their favorite celebrity after seeing them on the red carpet. They have all the glamor down perfectly. The beautiful outfit, perfect hair, gorgeous makeup, and probably a cute purse to match! Sometimes emulating them can prove to be extremely hard and really expensive.
If you have a party coming up, and you want to look exactly like your favorite celeb, look at a few photos of the look you like. Now break it down into parts. What is it exactly that you like?
If you like the color of their outfit, don’t stress about finding a dress or outfit in a similar style. Just go for that color you liked so much. For example, if Anne Hathaway wore a gorgeous red dress and you liked it for the shade, try another style of dress in that same stunning red. The same thing goes for any accessories! Sometimes focusing on one element like this can really help you turn out a great lookalike style without all the cost.
As for hair and makeup, don’t worry about dying your hair. Do you really want to change your hair color just for one party? Instead, why not just try to recreate how they had it styled? Play with your hair and see what works for you, while still keeping the feeling of that celebrity in the back of your mind. Makeup is the same way! Use their basic color palette, but add your own touches to it.
Stars are great for inspiration, but in the end, to look like a star yourself, always make their looks your own.

Everyday Hairstyles Tips
Everyone always talks about date hairstyles, wedding hairstyles and other fancy way to do your hair, but what about when you just want to go out and get a cup of coffee or run errands? Sometimes the easiest thing to do is to just throw your hair up into a bun or ponytail, and… surprise! That isn’t such a bad idea.
A messy bun or rough ponytail can actually look incredible, if done right. That sounds silly, but you can mess up a messy style!
For the bun, what you should do is comb back your hair and pull your hair up into a bun as you normally would. Now take a few strands of hair down on either side of your face to frame your features, then a few strands down from the bun as well. They should hang around it cutely, not “I just got out of bed and didn’t brush my hair.”-like. Take a few bobby pins and pin the bun to your hair gently. That’s it!
As for the ponytail, you are going to need a small Bumpit, which you can find in discount stores. Place it on top of your head, and then pull your hair up over it and into a loose ponytail. Now guess what! That’s all you have to do! The Bumpit should add a poof to your hair on top that is glamorous and pretty, but not over the top for a day out gathering groceries.
We always want to look our best, and now you can do it while doing boring every day chores. Have fun!

Choosing the Right Makeup Brushes
Sometimes when applying makeup, we aren’t getting the look that we want. You need a variety of makeup brushes that will help you achieve your goal. There are fluff brushes, angled brushes, shadow brushes and even bronzer or blush brushes. Be sure to tap off any excess makeup before applying it to your skin, when using just about any brush.
Brushes with natural horsehair or other natural hair instead of artificial bristles tend to hold onto the hairs better and shed less. The tips should be soft and very flexible.
Brushes are a good investment because you will use them for many years if you take care of them and keep them clean. They will be worth their weight in gold and you will more than get your money’s worth.
A local beauty supply store, or even the grocery store may have brushes that will suit your needs.

Celebrities without makeup
Here’s how they look with and without their makeup. Some of them look pretty scary, although we all have those days and I’m sure the photographers caught them at a bad moment. Some of them look ok. Most of all, they just seem to look like pretty normal people without their makeup. It just goes to show you what a big difference some good makeup can make!
