Shape up Eyes
To make the most of your eye shape, pay attention to the colors you choose and the application method you rely on. Try some of these tips to get the most out of your shape:
For Asian Eyes – Use black or black/brown eye liner to create a thick line along the top lashes. Blend gently for a smoky look and then apply a thinner line under the bottom lashes.
For Wide Eyes – Apply deeper shadows to the inner half of the lid and a lighter shades on the outer half. Then blend for a subtle transition between colors.
For Close Eyes – Go the opposite of the Wide Eye folks and apply the lighter shades to the inner half of the lid and the darker shades to the outer half. Always remember to blend!
For the Four-Eyed – Use a black, perhaps shimmering, mascara to really play up your eyes and bring them out from behind the glasses. Be sure to use an eyelash curler and two coats of mascara. Allow a few seconds for the mascara to dry completely before putting the glasses back on.
No matter what your eye shape, remember to play up the color as much as possible and use proper application techniques to make the most of your eyes.

Eye Extravaganza
Here are a few do’s and don’ts for making the most out of those peepers. Whenever applying eye shadow, start with a foundation to help keep it in place. You won’t need expensive primers for this, just the regular concealer that you dot on those dark circles can also be dotted above your eye to create a stay-put canvas for color. Once color is applied, BLEND!! Don’t be afraid to blend a little longer than you think is necessary.
Color-blocked eye shadow is not a good look on anyone. Keep colors light at the top and darker on the lid. A touch of white eye shadow (using an eye shadow pencil makes this much easier and keeps the color off the bridge of your nose) will make eyes look brighter and wider. For those of us who are more experienced and may have a few lines that show it, shimmering shadows will highlight those life lines, so be careful. Not all of us care about hiding our wisdom though, so go ahead and give a gold shimmer a try.
Select eye colors that enhance your eye color, but remember that colors like taupe and light lavender can really be worn by the majority. For a more specific to you look, check out a color wheel and choose an eye shadow that falls opposite of your eye color, like purple for green, or gold for blue. Remember to always have fun with your eye color and mix it up a bit from time to time.

Eyes Made Easy – eyeshadow for your eye color
Finding the right make-up combination for your eyes isn’t always the easiest of tasks. Thanks to companies like Almay, choosing the right eye shades and combos is much easier. They offer eye shadows, liners and mascaras created specifically for the different basic eye colors to enhance the eyes and make them really POP! Whether your eyes are brown, green, blue, or hazel, there is a line of products just for you.
Most eye colors have a couple of choices of color combination. One is usually more for daytime and one is a little bolder for the evenings. You can also mix and match the options of shadows, liners, and mascaras to achieve your own unique look. The eye shadow choices come in sets of three colors that are aligned in the case in the same order that they should be applied to the eye. So the bottom shadow goes on the lid, the middle shadow on the crease, and the top shadow is applied just under the brow.
Once all three colors are applied, blend, blend, blend. You can even use the bottom color to enhance the eye liner under your eyes. No matter what your eye color, check out this product from Almay that makes eyes easy. Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Powder Shadow Kit

Makeup Tips for Smokin’ Eyes
This year, many of us are trying to achieve that ever-popular smoky eyes look. We see it in multitudes of commercials and all over the red carpet. How do you create that smoldering look at home? Easy! Start by blending a light shade of eye shadow across the entire lid from the lash line to the brow bone.
Next, apply a darker eye shadow to the outer corners of the lids and along the lower lash line forming a sideways V shape. To create an even more dramatic effect, use darker shades of blues and purples (as long as they complement your natural eye color). After applying eye liner to the upper and lower lash lines, start smudging. Smudge it good!
Don’t go too crazy smudging though or you will to look like a raccoon. Finish off this dramatic look with a couple of coats of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. You’ll be smokin’!

Tips to Make Eye Makeup Last Longer
Stay-Put Tips for Eye Make-up: Looking great when you walk out the door is one thing, but looking great hours later can be quite a challenge some days. One simple trick is to apply your eyeliner and then use a fine-tip brush to dust on an eye shadow that is almost the same color over the liner.
This will help keep the eyeliner from smudging or running throughout the day and will also helps to create that very popular smoky eye look. To keep your eye shadow from creasing, put a few drops of contact lens solution on each eye lid before applying your favorite shadow colors. The sodium chloride in the solution helps to retain moisture making eye shadow indestructible.

Beauty Makeup Tips for Inexpensive Eyes
We’ve all seen the luxurious set of eye shadow brushes that claim to be perfect for creating those sexy, young-looking eyes. The truth is you don’t need to invest in expensive eye shadow brushes to create those smoldering looks. A set of “quality” brushes from the make-up counter can run upwards of $40.00, but a set of craft brushes is much less expensive.
Take a trip to your favorite craft store or the craft section of Wal-Mart and find inexpensive brushes that mimic exactly what expensive ones do. You also have the options to pick and choose the brushes that actually fit your needs instead of what comes standard. There are 3 brush styles that every make-up kit should include: a fine tip brush for dusting eye shadow over your eyeliner, a standard size applicator brush for color application (make-up artists prefer to have a couple of these – one for lighter colors and one for darker colors), and of course, a blending brush.
So the next time you’re tempted to buy those high-end brushes, think about stopping by the craft store instead and using the money you save for a few extra colors to liven up your look.

Makeup Tips for Brown-eyed Girls
Those with deep, dark brown eyes have the freedom to enjoy, experiment, and enliven their eyes with all most any eye shadow color. A spectrum of shades will enhance your eye color, so have fun trying them on!
To create some extra impact, give deep purples and navy blue colors a try instead of the usual black eye liner or mascara. Contrast is the key to making your eyes stand out, so let go of the brown eye shadows that mimic your natural eye color. Shades of mocha and cappuccino with a bit of shimmer will really stand out against your brown eyes.
However, just because you have the option to use every color in the rainbow, doesn’t necessarily mean you should. Brown-eyed girls should take their skin tone into consideration when choosing eye shadow colors. Talk with a color expert to find out what colors go best with your skin tone and then experiment away with all of the shade choices available to you.

Makeup Tips for Hazel Eyes
Get some eyeshadow color tips to make yourself a Hazel-eyed Hottie!
You have them, and you love them! Hazel eyes have an ability unlike any other eye color. Depending on the light in the room or the color of your clothes, hazel eyes can differ in intensity between shades of green and brown or even sometimes a hint of blue. Take some time to experiment with a range of colors to create the eye color you’re in the mood for on any given day.
Eye shadow color choices that work for people with brown or green eyes can be extremely beneficial to you, but don’t let them limit your creativity. Avoid shades of blue and the softer bluish purples. These colors will not enhance your eyes and may create a lady-of-the-night look that no one wants. Neutral tones of brown can play up the natural beauty of your eyes, while warm tones of gold and yellow bring out the golden flecks that often grace the hazel eye.

Makeup Tips for Green Eyes
Ga-ga for Green Eyes — Did you know that green is the rarest of eye colors? It’s true! Only about 2% of the world’s population has green eyes. It’s time to start celebrating your uniqueness and give these gorgeous greens the attention they deserve.
To highlight your eye color, use eyeshadow in bronze, copper, soft coral, or peach tones. These natural eye makeup shades will play-up the earthy green in your eyes. If you want to create a more smoldering, sexy look, try deep, rich shades of purple and violet in your eye shadows. The contrast between the green of your eyes and the purple will create a bright and striking look. Although dark shades of purple are striking, shades of lavender and lilac are not. Stay away from these!
Opting for darker shades of purple and building up a little black with your eyeshadow and eyeliner will create a more dramatic, smoky look.

Makeup Tips to Brighten Blues Eyes
Blue-eyed beauties have been looked up to for decades. If you’ve been blessed with blue eyes, don’t take that for granted. Make the most of it. Most of us think that eye shadow in icy pinks are the way to go, but shades of pink and coral can often make the whites of your eyes look bloodshot or yellowed. Broaden your horizons and think about some complimentary eyeshadow colors that can help your blues eyes POP!
To highlight those vibrant blue peepers, try some warmer colors. Eye-shadows in sun-kissed shades of brown, gold, and taupe will increase the impact of your eyes. For the nighttime, try mixing dark shades of turquoise, fuchsia, and even blue itself with black eyeliner. The darker framework will make the light of your eyes really stand out!
